Talya Dash LCSW, SEP, PACT

She completed an extra Three years training in 2013 and is a Certified Somatic Experiencing practitioner, as well as a PACT couples therapist, and utilizes attachment work and the Enneagram.

Talya is passionate about supporting and guiding the healing process of individuals, couples, and families. She believes that our body and mind are always working to heal trauma, addiction, and various other struggles, but that we are often lost in the dark maze of our pain. As a therapist, Talya works to provide a light to see better through the maze.
Talya's central methodology is Somatic Experiencing® a body-awareness approach to trauma, as well as a wide variety of other methods, such as Cognitive Behavioral, Motivational Interviewing, Enneagram, and Attachment. These approaches help restore self-regulation, and return a sense of aliveness, relaxation and wholeness to traumatized individuals who have had these precious gifts taken away from them.
Regular talk therapy supports some change but we seem to tell our story over and over again with little relief. This is due to engaging only the frontal lobe of our brain, the "rational" part. It does not tap into the deeper survival mechanisms in the reptilian brain; fight, flight, freeze, and fawn instincts. Through this work we rewire our bodies’ responses to stress, enhance resiliency, and develop self-awareness by integrating all parts of the brain and no longer being in survival mode/mentality.
